The Honourable Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, Barrister Hanatu Musa Musawa presided over the inauguration ceremony of the Main Planning Committee for the 68th Meeting of the UN Tourism Commission for Africa (CAF), scheduled to be hosted by Nigeria in 2025.

In her address, the Honourable Minister emphasized that the CAF event presents a significant opportunity to reposition Nigeria on the global stage as a premier tourism destination. She highlighted the event’s potential to showcase Nigeria’s cultural richness, diverse attractions, and aspirations for growth in the tourism sector.

The Main Planning Committee comprises representatives from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), security organizations, and the apex body of private-sector tourism stakeholders ably represented by the President, Mr. Nkereuwem Onung, who promised the full support of the private sector in hosting the global event.

The Minister assured the committee of the Ministry’s unwavering support to ensure the seamless planning and execution of this global tourism event. She encouraged the committee to utilize the platform to project Nigeria’s transformation journey, transitioning from its current realities to its envisioned future as a global tourism hub.

This event marks a pivotal moment for Nigeria to strengthen its presence in the international tourism community and foster sustainable growth in the sector.
