Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, witnessed an evening of glamour, excitement and pageantry as prominent industrialists, politicians, royal fathers, traditional leaders and media practitioners converged on Jogor Centre to celebrate Chief Demola Babalola, immediate past Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, on his 50th birthday.
The event attracted an impressive gathering of distinguished personalities from different walks of life, underscoring the celebrant’s connections across the media, political, traditional and business communities.
The atmosphere at the venue was festive, with the hall beautifully decorated to reflect the significance of the golden jubilee. Guests were treated to an evening of music, entertainment and hospitality, while popular live band Adonia thrilled the audience with captivating performances. Food and drinks were also available in abundance as guests mingled and exchanged goodwill messages in honour of the celebrant.
Among the prominent personalities who graced the occasion were the Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), Zacch Adedeji; former Oyo State Deputy Governor, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja; Hon. Remi Oseni; veteran broadcaster Yemi Farounbi; Bose Adedibu; and the Iyalode of Ibadanland.
The gathering also featured members of the Ibadan Mogajis, Hon. Samson Opeyemi Fatola, members of Babalola’s old students’ association, professional colleagues and members of the NUJ in Oyo State, all of whom joined other well-wishers to celebrate the milestone.
