The Rwanda Development Board (ADB) has been declared winner of the 1st place award for progressive policies category at the Africa Tourism Leadership Forum 2024 held at Gaborone International Conference Centre, Grand Palm, Gaborone, Botswana.
The Ministry of Environment and Tourism, Botswana and Ministry of Tourism, Mauritius wins 2nd and 3rd place awards respectively.
In her remarks, Chief Tourism Officer, Rwanda Development Board (RDB), Michaella Rugwizangoga said the award is dedicated to the entire Rwanda Development Board tourism team.
“This accolades underscores our commitment to driving sustainable growth in Africa’s tourism economy through innovative leadership, collaboration and advocacy”, Rugwizangoga said.
The Africa Tourism Leadership Forum and Awards (ATLF) continues to serve as a permanent platform for advancing entrepreneurship, women and youth empowerment, and recognizing changemakers across the industry.
Africa Tourism Leadership Forum (ATLF) is a Pan-African dialogue platform. It brings together key stakeholders of Africa’s travel, tourism, hospitality and aviation sectors to network, share insights, and devise strategies for intra-Africa travel and tourism growth across the continent, whilst enhancing the brand equity of “Destination Africa’’.
It is also the only Forum of its kind in Africa that highlights tourism as a major economic pillar to diversify African economies.
The Forum is convened by Africa Tourism Partners and BDO South Africa.
