At a meeting held on April 21, 2026, between the management of NIHOTOUR and officials of the Chinese Embassy, Aare Abisoye Fagade expressed appreciation for the Embassy’s collaboration on the forthcoming Gastronomy Festival scheduled for May.
During discussions, Fagade recalled that three key areas of cooperation had been identified in an earlier engagement. These include joint training programmes, a Nigerian–Chinese culinary exchange, and the establishment of a sustainable long-term partnership.
He described the Chinese Embassy as a strategic partner, noting that both institutions can continue to collaborate on initiatives within the tourism and hospitality sector whenever opportunities arise.

Mr. Yang Jianxing, Cultural Counsellor at the Embassy of China in Nigeria and Director of the China Cultural Center in Nigeria, reaffirmed the Embassy’s interest in co-hosting a Nigeria–China Gastronomy Festival in the future. He emphasized that such an initiative would further promote cultural exchange and strengthen bilateral relations.
NIHOTOUR reiterated its commitment to maintaining high culinary standards, delivering quality service, and enhancing capacity through international partnerships that highlight Nigeria’s rich and diverse culinary heritage.
