In the presence of Major-General Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Deputy Chief of Public Security, Exhibition World Bahrain (EWB) hosted “Run for Autism” for the third consecutive year in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, Alia Centre for Early Intervention and Bahrain Road Runners Sports Club.

The event took place on Saturday, 19th April 2025, bringing together the local community in a powerful display of unity, compassion, and support for individuals with autism.

This year’s event welcomed over 500 participants, including children with autism, their families, caregivers, and members of the wider community who joined in support of autism awareness.

The inclusive programme featured a range of competitive races, timed runs, family-friendly walks, and an array of entertainment and educational resources designed to raise awareness about autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and support those affected by it.

Spanning EWB’s impressive 105,000 square metres of total indoor space, the event leveraged the venue’s vast concourses and pre-function area – providing a vibrant and accommodating setting for this socially impactful initiative.

The event has experienced consistent year-on-year growth in attendance, along with increased participation and support from sponsors and partner organisations. A notable highlight of this edition of Run4Autism was the introduction of long-distance races, including a 5-kilometre indoor race.

This was made possible by Exhibition World Bahrain’s expansive and flexible facilities, which enabled the accommodation of a long-distance event entirely indoors. This development further enhances the venue’s reputation as a premier location capable of hosting various types of events, adding large-scale indoor sporting events to the venue’s diverse offering.

“Run for Autism” has become a signature event at EWB, reflecting the organisation’s dedication to its corporate social responsibility (CSR) goals. By championing this cause for the third year in a row, EWB continues to foster a more inclusive society and drive positive social impact throughout the Kingdom.
