In a gesture that unites national pride, innovation, and aviation, Embraer today carried out a special projection onto the Christ the Redeemer monument, Brazil’s most recognized landmark worldwide.
The initiative marks the opening of the 82nd Annual General Meeting of the International Air Transport Association (IATA AGM), which will bring together the main leaders of the global aviation industry from June 6 to 8 in Rio de Janeiro.
From atop Corcovado Hill, this symbolic action on the monument that embraces the “Marvelous City” reflects Embraer’s commitment to increasingly innovative, efficient, safe, and sustainable aviation.
“Air transport is one of the pillars of the modern world, with a direct impact on the economy, society, and global integration. Carrying out this projection on one of the Seven Wonders of the World, which embodies Brazil’s identity, hospitality, and international image, is a source of great pride,” said Francisco Gomes Neto, CEO of Embraer.
The projected images highlight cutting-edge technologies that guide aviation’s sustainable initiatives. At this gathering, Embraer’s E2 commercial jets take center stage as the most efficient aircraft in their category, combining performance with significant reductions in carbon emissions and noise—aligned with global targets.
In Brazil, these aircraft are already driving fleet renewal at airlines such as Azul, and soon LATAM.
Welcoming global aviation leaders attending the IATA event also serves as an invitation for collective reflection on the future of the air transport industry and the essential role the sector plays in economic development, tourism promotion, and international integration.
Part of Embraer’s investment in the projection will be allocated to the Centro de Capacitação Profissional Nossa Senhora da Gratidão (Our Lady of Gratitude Professional Training Center), operated by Obra Social Leste Um – O Sol, a member of the Consórcio Cristo Sustentável (Sustainable Christ Consortium).
The center is dedicated to fostering autonomy, personal empowerment, and productive inclusion for women in situations of social vulnerability. Through courses, workshops, and educational activities, the center offers opportunities for professional qualifications, development of technical and behavioral skills, and promotion of entrepreneurship and income generation.
These actions are designed to meet the needs of the community and participants, expanding access to the labor market, restoring self-esteem, and enabling the creation of new life projects. The center is committed to dignity, citizenship, and social transformation, creating tangible pathways for improving the quality of life for the women it serves.
