Q: Can you share your experience in the aircraft manufacturing and aviation industry in general?
I have spent over 10 years in the aviation industry, working in international sales and key account management. My experience includes roles at Diamond Aircraft Industries GmbH in Austria, where I was responsible for aircraft services, and simulators. My expertise lies in working with institutional clients, including government contracts and military operators across Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and Asia. This diverse background has given me a deep appreciation for cultural diversity and the value of collaboration.
Q: Focusing on the African market, what are your strategies in making Deutsche Aircraft a well-known brand in Africa?
Our strategy for the African market involves leveraging the unique capabilities of our D328eco® aircraft to meet the specific needs of regional operators. We focus on building strong relationships with local partners, investing in marketing and outreach initiatives, and demonstrating the operational efficiency and sustainability of our aircraft. Additionally, we aim to support local economies by facilitating the transport of goods and boosting tourism. The versatility of the D328eco allows it to serve various purposes, from scheduled operations and corporate shuttles to multi-role applications such as cargo, coast guard search & rescue, firefighting, and air ambulance services.
Q: What are the biggest challenges facing the aircraft manufacturing industry today and how does Deutsche Aircraft turn these challenges into opportunities?
The aircraft manufacturing industry faces several challenges, including supply chain disruptions, material shortages, and workforce constraints. At Deutsche Aircraft, we address these challenges by strengthening long-term relationships with key suppliers, optimizing lead times, and leveraging advanced forecasting tools and buffer stock strategies. We are also setting up an ecosystem for material in-sourcing, an integrated procurement management hub, and a distribution centre enabling just-in-time delivery. Additionally, we prioritize sustainability by exploring alternative material sources and implementing energy-efficient production processes.
Q: How does your company stay ahead of the curve in terms of innovation, technology, safety, and quality in its products and processes?
We collaborate with industry leaders not just for the design and development of the aircraft but across every stage and facet of the lifecycle. Then here mention how we are bringing innovation even in the way how the aircraft is manufactured Our new Final Assembly Line (FAL) for the D328eco, set to open in late 2025, will span 60,500 square meters and feature advanced technologies like 3D models and augmented reality. It will be 100% digital and paperless, with automated systems to enhance efficiency. The FAL will prioritize sustainability with energy-efficient tools and offer an open factory for customer transparency which also ensures that the aircraft ensures utmost safety standards.
Q: What are the key performance characteristics of the D328eco aircraft, and how environmentally friendly and fuel-efficient is the aircraft?
The D328eco is specifically designed to meet the operational needs and demands of the regional aviation industry for the typical high-utilisation and short-haul nature with its right size, range and performance capabilities. The PW127XT-S, the latest and most efficient engine powering the D328eco, makes the aircraft up to 50% more efficient in terms of fuel consumption when compared to a similar sized regional jet aircraft – which has a considerable presence in the African market. The D328eco’s exceptional hot and high performance aided by its wide temperature operating range (-40 C to + 50 C) and along with its unpaved runway and STOL capabilities will help regional airlines serving to be the lifeline of transportation helping connect people and other essential services. based out of remote regions and challenging conditions to operate effectively and efficiently.

We invest in vocational training programs in partnership with AERO-Bildung to train future aviation mechanics. Our training program includes hands-on experience with state-of-the-art aircraft and focuses on developing skills in assembly, maintenance, and engine technology. We also offer opportunities for top graduates to start their careers within Deutsche Aircraft, ensuring a skilled and motivated workforce both in Oberpfaffenhofen and Leipzig.
