The Centre for Black and African Arts and Civilization (CBAAC) was honoured to receive Abubakar Suleiman, Chief Executive Officer of Sterling Bank Ltd, on a courtesy visit to its headquarters on Monday, July 23, 2024.
During the visit, Mr Suleiman was warmly received by the Director-General of CBAAC, Honorable Aisha Adamu Augie, and other senior management staff of the centre.
The CEO’s visit aimed to explore potential areas of collaboration and mutual support between Sterling Bank and CBAAC in promoting African arts, culture, and creative economy.
The Director-General conducted Mr. Suleiman on a comprehensive tour of CBAAC’s facilities, showcasing its rich cultural heritage and educational resources.
The tour included the CBAAC Museum, Exhibitions Gallery, Archives, Library, and Information Management Department.
Mr. Suleiman expressed his admiration for CBAAC’s dedication to preserving and promoting African arts and culture, highlighting the importance of such initiatives in nation-building and societal development.
He also commended CBAAC’s efforts in creating a vibrant cultural hub that showcases the best of African creativity and innovation.
The visit culminated in a meeting between Mr. Suleiman and the CBAAC management team, where they discussed potential partnership opportunities, including sponsorship, collaborations, and support for CBAAC’s programs and events.
The Director-General, Honorable Aisha Adamu Augie, thanked Mr. Suleiman for his visit and expressed her optimism about the potential partnership between Sterling Bank and CBAAC.
She emphasized the need for collaboration between the private sector and cultural institutions to drive cultural development and promote African heritage.
