His Excellency, RT.Rev. Stephen Tunde Victor Adegbite, PhD, GPJ, is an ordained minister of the gospel, an eloquent preacher, an erudite scholar, an administrator per – excellence, a lecturer, a theologian and above all a pilgrimage ICON who has been in the pilgrimage circle for over two decades.

His Lordship was born on the 17th of August, 1968, in Oyo State, the pacesetter South West Nigeria.

He had his secondary school education at Fiditi Grammar School Fiditi, Oyo State, from 1979 to 1985.

Because of the oil of anointing he carries, he proceeded to Immanuel College of Theology, Ibadan, from 1988 to 1991, where he obtained a Diploma in Theology as well as a Diploma in Religious Studies.

His love and penchant for Golden Fleece knew no bound. Therefore, after obtaining his Diploma certificates, he proceeded to the prestigious Premier University of Ibadan in 1992, where he bagged his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religious Studies (BA, Hons) in 1995.

Considering his unquenchable desire for education, Bishop Adegbite also enrolled for his Master’s Degree in the same Alma mata – University of Ibadan and successfully graduated in 1998 with a Masters Degree in ETHICS.

This ebullient and effervescent Minister of the gospel, remained focused, and determined to attain to the Zenith of his educational pursuit which propelled him to proceed for his Doctorate Degree programme in the same University and bagged a PhD degree in ETHICS in 2022.

Having garnered the requisite academic laurels, Bishop STV Adegbite, therefore, navigated into a new realm of knowledge and capacity building in the genre of management.

He attended the CORAT in Kenya skilful management for Church administration in 2008.

He equally attended a management course for Presbyters in the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria, ASCON, Badagry, Lagos State, Nigeria for four consecutive times in 2006, 2008, 20102016 respectively.

Bishop Adegbite is a thorough bred Church administrator who has faithfully served in different capacities.

He served as the Proto-Presbyter, methodist Church of the Trinity, Tinubu Lagos (2012-2015). He was the former Chairman Christian Council of Nigeria, Lagos State. He was also the former Treasurer, Christian Association of Nigeria, Lagos State.

This man of many parts is a member of the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Member Board of Governors Immanuel College of Theology Ibadan. He is also a member of the Inter-faith Committee, Lagos State.

Bishop STV Adegbite has held a handful of strategic positions in the Methodist Church such as the Synod Secretary Trinity Church Council from 1996-2001, Synod Secretary Lagos Diocese from 2001-2009; He also held sway as the Chairman of City wide crusade, Lagos Diocese in 2000.

He also functioned as the Lay Preachers Coordinator Archdiocese of Lagos from 2001 to 2009. Presbyter Araromi Circuit, Presbyter Wesley Cathedral Olowogbowo Lagos during his time, he was instrumental to the building and completion of a brand new Church.

Bishop Adegbite served as a Senior Lecturer at the Methodist Theological Institute Sagamu, Ogun state Nigeria from 2009-2012.

He was the Vice Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN Lagos State from 2012 to 2014.

This quintessential leader was formerly a member of Board of Governors of Igbobi College, Lagos from 2009 to 2013 and was the Secretary Electoral College for the CAN election of 2016.

Bishop STV Adegbite was appointed the 4th substantive Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, NCPC by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR on 10th January, 2024 with effect from 4th January 2024, the appointment is for a term of five years in the first instance.

He is the first ever Executive Secretary to bring his episcopal experience to bear in the Commission ,being the first Bishop to pilot the affairs of NCPC.

It is also on record that he is equally the first South Westerner to serve as the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission.

Prior to his appointment, Bishop Adegbite was the Metropolitan Bishop of the Diocese of Methodist Church Ikeja and the Chairman of CAN, Lagos State.

He is the Chairman Christian Council of Nigeria, South West, as well as a former member of Board of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, NCPC, where he ably represented the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN.

In addition to the foregoing appointments, the 4th substantive Executive Secretary of NCPC is the current supervising Bishop for Igbobi College, Lagos, representing the Methodist Church Nigeria.

This erudite scholar is a recipient of plethora of awards over the years, even from his secondary education days.

He received the Best Student award in English Language from Immanuel College of Theology in 1991, best student in the Department of Religious Studies University of Ibadan in1996 set, best Post-graduate student University of Ibadan in 1998 set and other several awards from various Christian bodies and organizations.

He is an alumnus of the Strategic Management course in Houston, Texas, United States of America 2023, and the same course Houston Texas-USA in 2015.

He was the Director of Planning and Strategy National CAN under the Presidency of His Eminence, Most Rev .Dr. Samson Dapo Ayokunle for six years.

Bishop STV Adegbite has several led Christians travelling to Israel both in Lagos and national for the past 23 years on Holy Pilgrimage to the land of the Bible.

He has traversed the length and breadth of this globe on various church and national assignments.

Bishop STV Adegbite has visited Germany, Britain, Greece, Rome, Dubai, Kenya, and Ghana, amongst others.

Bishop Adegbite is indeed a sticker to details and a pragmatic leader. He is a leader of leaders and a coach of coaches.

He is equally a lover of humanity and an epitome of love that he exhibits anywhere he goes.

This rare gem and God’s servant is a man of humble disposition with a knack for wisecrack; highly dependable, and he is consistently selfless.

The NCPC Helmsman is a happily married man with only one wife. He was married to Mrs Funmilayo Adetifewa Adegbite (nee Makindipe) of blessed memory.

Later, as the year flies, he gets married to Princess Adewunmi Fadeke Adegbite, (nee Oyekan), and both marriages are blessed with four lovely, beautiful, and handsome children. Tayo, Tope, Taiwo and Kehinde.
