The Wine Club Lagos proudly presents A Symphony of Wine and Sound, an original, immersive live performance where wine and music converge in a unique sensory experience. This debut event reimagines six distinctive wines from England, Italy and France through bespoke musical arrangements inspired by well-known nostalgic songs, performed live by a 20-person orchestra.

Founder of The Wine Club Lagos, Folakemi Alli-Balogun, leads this pioneering experience, blending storytelling, sensory exploration, and cultural connection. The event is accompanied by a feature-length documentary that captures the creative journey from concept to composition and performance, showcasing the vibrancy of Nigerian talent on a global stage.

“This experience is about emotion and connection,” said Folakemi Alli-Balogun, founder of The Wine Club Lagos. “Wine and music both evoke memory. We wanted to explore what happens when you let them speak to each other.”

Curated for an exclusive audience of 70-100 invite-only guests, including wine lovers, music and art enthusiasts, creative minds, corporate leaders, and long-time supporters of Lagos’s cultural scene, A Symphony of Wine and Sound promise to be an unforgettable evening that transcends traditional wine tasting. Each composition mirrors the personality, structure, and essence of the selected wines, inviting guests to taste and hear the stories wines can tell.

“At its core, this experience asks the question: If wine had a voice, what would it sound like? The truth is that we all seem to instinctively recognise that voice, even if we’re not actively thinking about it. I hope this event will help people experience and appreciate wine in a new and memorable way, by highlighting the obvious link between wine and music,” added Folakemi.

“It has been a privilege to watch the growth of ‘The Wine Club Lagos’ from the early days of wine education, to appreciation, and now merging artistic expressions. In 1952 Africa, we will continue to applaud and support such elevations of African creativity – supporting the symphony of African arts, sounds and tastemakers,” said Ejike Egbuagu, Ejike, Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of Moneda Invest, the Chairman of 1952 Africa and a long-time member of The Wine Club Lagos.

The performance will take place at The Metropolitan Club, Victoria Island, Lagos, starting with a welcome reception at 5 PM. This event serves as a platform for thoughtful engagement where art, legacy, and capital intersect, creating intimate opportunities for meaningful conversations among Nigeria’s patrons of African creative excellence.
