The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, NCPC, Bishop Prof. Stephen Adegbite, has extended warm felicitations to Muslims in Nigeria and across the diaspora on the occasion of Eid-ul-Mawlid, which commemorates the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
In a statement issued in Abuja on Monday, August 24, 2026, the NCPC boss urged the Muslim faithful to emulate the virtues of the Holy Prophet and to shun all actions contrary to His teachings.
He enjoined them to use the celebration as an opportunity for deep spiritual reflection and self-examination. According to him, this year’s Eid-ul-Mawlid should serve as a moment for Muslims to reflect on their lives and on the exemplary deeds of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.
Bishop Adegbite further emphasized the need for the Muslim faithful to devote the day to educating themselves on what the Prophet Muhammad stood for, describing him as a shining light and model for humanity.
The NCPC boss also urged Muslims to continue to pray for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other leaders of the country as the nation prepares for the 2027 general elections.
He expressed optimism that the forthcoming elections would be peaceful and that the will of God would prevail.
Bishop Adegbite further admonished Muslim clerics to continue to provide sound spiritual guidance to their followers to enable them to embrace peace at all times.
He reiterated the need for Muslim faithful to uphold the values of peace, love, harmony, dialogue, and patriotism.
