The Director General/CEO of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR), Aare (Dr.) Abisoye Fagade, together with members of the institute’s senior management team, hosted the CEO of BLIP Limited, Mr. Freeman Musa, for the signing of a landmark agreement to develop, deploy, and manage NIHOTOUR’s proprietary National Registration Portal (NRP).

The National Registration Portal (NRP) is a cutting-edge platform aimed at reinforcing NIHOTOUR’s regulatory mandate by enabling seamless identification, registration, training, verification, and certification of personnel, professionals, operators, training centres, and other industry stakeholders. It is designed to establish a structured digital ecosystem where standards are maintained, talent is effectively managed, and opportunities are broadened across the value chain.

The platform will include a unified personnel registry, secure digital certification, integrated financial reporting systems, and advanced analytics dashboards to support data-driven decision-making. It will connect with key national databases and leverage both cloud-based and physical infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security. A key highlight is a dedicated mobile app designed to broaden access for the industry’s extensive workforce.

By integrating key functions—identification, registration, training, certification, and accreditation—the NRP will enable accurate data capture, support continuous professional development, strengthen regulatory compliance, and enhance the credibility of certifications, ultimately fostering a transparent, efficient, and globally competitive framework.

This agreement represents a significant milestone in the digital transformation of Nigeria’s tourism and hospitality ecosystem, strengthening stakeholder engagement, promoting collaboration, and delivering a scalable, secure framework for workforce registration and regulatory oversight. The platform is scheduled for public launch in the coming weeks.

The initiative positions NIHOTOUR as a frontrunner in digital regulation and establishes a benchmark for tourism sector modernization across Africa.
