The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Prof. Stephen Adegbite, paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Governor Peter Mbah, at Lion House, Enugu on 26th January, 2026.
The NCPC boss commended Governor Mbah for reconstituting the State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board and appointing impeccable leaders to superintend over the affairs of the Board.
He informed his host that he was in the state for a sensitization visit to discuss the way forward for Christian pilgrimage in Enugu State under his leadership.
Bishop Adegbite described Enugu State as one of the Christian pilgrimage-friendly states in the South East, urging the Governor to ensure Enugu Christians benefit from the dividend of democracy by sponsoring many to the holy land.
This, he said, would enable them to join forces with his government to advance good governance in the state.
He intimated the Governor that the Commission’s 2025 Main Pilgrimage exercise commenced on December 29, 2025, and is progressing well. The spiritual well-being of Enugu State’s people “cannot be taken for granted,” Adegbite emphasised, noting their religiosity.
The NCPC helmsman commended Governor Mbah’s exemplary leadership and good governance, particularly his infrastructural development and human capital focus. He praised Mbah for launching Enugu Air, calling him a man of vision and innovation.
Governor Mbah thanked Adegbite for the visit, saying they had “very useful and productive discussions” on strengthening institutional collaboration and leveraging faith-based platforms to promote peace, social cohesion, and good governance.
