Keith Henry, President and CEO of the Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada (ITAC), has been reappointed to the Board of Directors of  Tourism HR Canada.

As the national voice for Indigenous tourism in Canada, ITAC values its partnership with Tourism HR Canada, a national organization with over 30 years of experience growing a world-leading tourism workforce.

A strong and skilled workforce is essential to the success of the tourism industry. From training and professional development to recruitment and retention, human resource capacity directly impacts the quality of visitor experiences and the sustainability of tourism businesses across the country. This is especially true for Indigenous tourism operators, many of whom are building businesses in rural and remote communities where workforce challenges can be particularly acute.

Tourism HR Canada plays a vital role in addressing these challenges through labour market research, skills training, program accreditation and workforce development strategies. The organization’s resources, including its Indigenous Engagement Handbook, support the broader goal of creating an inclusive and resilient tourism sector.

Henry’s continued presence on the board ensures that Indigenous perspectives remain central to national conversations about tourism workforce development.
