Justice Ishaq Usman Bello (Rtd)

The National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR) has inaugurated the Hospitality, Tourism & Travel Tribunal (HTTT), appointing retired Chief Judge of the FCT, Justice Ishaq Usman Bello, as its Chairman.

The tribunal, established under Section 40 of the NIHOTOUR Act, will function as a regulatory and adjudicatory body to resolve disputes, enforce standards, and uphold compliance in Nigeria’s hospitality and tourism sectors.

Other members appointed include Steve Ayorinde, former Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism; Alhaja Bolaji Mustapha, President of NANTOP; and Mr. John Daniel Enemona of CIHTMA.

The HTTT is mandated to address professional misconduct, licensing issues, and consumer complaints.

NIHOTOUR Director General, Aare Abisoye Fagade, described the move as a landmark step toward institutionalizing accountability and due process.

He said the tribunal reflects NIHOTOUR’s commitment to global best practices and a more professional tourism industry.
