Minister of the Environment, Climate Change, Tourism and Hospitality Industry Nqobizitha Mangaliso Ndlovu has formally announced the new Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) substantive chief executive officer, Ms Winnie Muchanyuka.

“I am coming in to a board that has made major strides and we are starting from a very high position, Mr Chidzidzi did a very good job steering the board and the industry in a very good direction, it now up to me to take it to even greater heights,” said Ms Muchanyuka.

“Ms Muchanyuka has sat on various boards and has gained exposure to the tourism industry which makes her, the appropriate candidate for the position she has been appointed to, I look forward to working with you and the team in the achievement of a USD $5 million industry,” said Minister Ndlovu.

Winnie Muchanyuka is an Experienced Senior Manager with sales and marketing and business management experience in the airlines/aviation industry.  Prior to her new role, she was a part-time lecturer at the university of zimbabwe on Tourism Distribution Systems and Web Design and Tourism Informatics.

She also served on the board of the Tourism Business Council of Zimbabwe and the Chinhoyi University School of Tourism. She has vast experience in the aviation industry with a stint as an air hostess for Air Zimbabwe and Swiss Air. She also worked as an executive for the South African Airways.

Winnie Muchanyuka has a track record of driving sales, improving customer satisfaction and driving overall operational efficiency and profitability. She is experienced in Negotiation, Strategic Business Planning, Airports, Commercial Aviation, Tourism, and Loyalty Programs and overall promotion of organizational mission and objectives
