The International Tourism Film Festival Africa (ITFFA) 2023 is set to hold from 2nd – 6th May, 2023 in Cape Town, South Africa.
Founded in 2019, by Caroline Ungersbock and James Byrne to honour and promote works with exceptional and innovative content created today on all continents and seen and used on various platforms.
ITFFA honours all video content related to the tourism and travel industry.
TV ads, promotional films, video campaigns, videos for social media, video blogs, documentaries, reports and TV magazines related to the promotion of tourism destinations, products and services are invited to participate in this exclusive and unique festival on the African Continent.
ITFFA aims to contribute towards stimulating the development and growth of the national and African audio-visual industry and, at the same time, to give visibility and recognition to the work of many talented men and women and integrate the global creative community.
The Festival Director, International Tourism Film Festival Africa, Caroline Ungersbock said, “I was a speaker at ART&TUR an International Tourism Film Festival – organized in Portugal, the Portuguese stage of a circuit of Tourism Film Festivals, CIFFT. My first contact with the world of tourism film festivals, made me realize that Video is really one of the important tools to promote a destination. At that very moment, the idea came up – Why not organize a festival like this in my country, that has its international focus, without forgetting our beautiful and wonderful continent. Africa”.
Some of the notable official jury members to the ITFFA 2023 are; Andreas Ewels, Filmmaker/Director, NATOURALE; George Moolman, Head of Event Partnerships, V&A Waterfront; Charles Shima, Founder and CEO, ZaNiheza; Dany Gamal, Film Director/Writer, Dany Gamal; Jibola Oluseye, Founder and CEO, Taste of Africa Vibes; Colleen Smerdon, Founder and Managing Director, Vital Link; Tsuyoshi Kigawa, Professor, Wakayama University and Lumka Dlomo, Marketing and Tourism Executive, Johannesburg Tourism.
The jury members include Mohamed Awad Farah, Filmmaker, Producer and Curator, Sudanese Film Making Association; Patrick Walton, Chairperson and Director, Garden Route International Film Festival; Francisco Dias, Director ART&TUR – International Tourism Film Festival; Can Saracoglu, President, Producer and Director, International Tourism Film Festival; Janna Tolstikova, CEO and Journalist, TV BRICS International Media Network; Janet Pillai, CEO, MLT Car Hire and Tours; Adriana Rodrigues, Head of Division of Communication, Turismo Centro de Portugal among others.
