The Dubai Accessible Tourism International Summit (DATIS), that works towards facilitating better tourism facilities for the People of Determination, will hold its second session on January 12, 2022.

The DATIS-2022, supported by #Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), is to be held under the title, Tourism for All, to shed light on the challenges faced by about one billion people who need a variety of assistance as per the World Health Organization.

As residents, visitors or tourists in cities across the world, their requirements need to be strengthened through legislation, laws, infrastructure and services that meet their aspirations and fulfill their rights to discover the world comfortably.

The Director-General, Dubai Tourism, His Excellency Helal Al Marri said “Dubai has delivered on its promise to enhance the lives of People of Determination, further underlining the city’s journey towards becoming the most preferred destination to visit, work and live in”

DATIS will debate on Policy and Planning, Capacity Building, Information and Customer Service and Infrastructure and Facilities. Medical Tourism, Prejudices in Media, Use of Social Media and Lack of Information and the Future of Accessible Tourism will also be debated. Spread over several sessions and workshops over two days, DATIS aims to become a sensible voice to better the tourism industry’s prospects.

The Summit, which enjoys the participation of organisations, officials and international government officials and experts, aims also to strengthen the UAE’s efforts to make the country a preferred tourist destination for people with disabilities from all over the world, and for decision makers in the UAE to have the opportunity to be acquainted with best international practices in the field of tourism and services dedicated to people with disabilities. This will eventually serve the UAE national economy by attracting a new segment of tourists and visitors of more than 700 million people, 50 million of whom live in the Middle East.
