The Africa Tourism Partners are excited to announce the top five finalists for the Youth in Tourism Innovation Challenge 2024 out of the 143 entries received from all over the African Continent.

The 6th and 2024 Youth in Tourism Innovation Summit & Challenge will be hosted by the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism, Namibia at the Windhoek Country Club Resort from 28th – 31st May, 2024.

The five finalists are Kedumetse Liphi, Founder & Chief Engineer, Ked-Liphi (Pty) Ltd Botswana with the Project: Chedza Solar Backpack; Devin Itaagie, Chief Executive Officer, Canine Safaris Ltd, Uganda with the Project: BuildSafari Software; Ajena Jafar, Co-founder & CEO, Tour Plug, Uganda with the Project: Digitizing Tour Operations in Africa; Joseph Owiredu, Chief Executive Officer, Fihankra ComTech Ltd, Ghana with the Project: Fihankra TravGuard and Gerald Muema, Co-founder, ReNewGen Tech Ltd, Kenya with the Project: Eco Harmony: Enhancing Sustainable Tourism for a Greener Tomorrow.

The purpose of the Summit is to support African youth, start-ups, small businesses, and accelerator programmes as they explore opportunities within the global tourism ecosystem to become future leaders and change agents in the sector.

Other AYTIS objectives are to create a viable network to support youths, start-ups and small enterprises to maximise their leadership potential; help to drive a transformative change in their societies and nations at large through critical and design thinking; train, inspire and equip youths across Africa to impact their world, and proffer lasting innovative solutions for growing Africa tourism sector; and empower youth at all levels, start-ups and small enterprises by offering market access, business development, value-partnership, mentorship and funding solutions.
